Privacy Notice


The purpose of this privacy notice
This privacy notice gives you information about your personal data that we collect, why we hold it and how we use it.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and promise to respect your personal information and do all we can to keep it safe.
We aim to be clear about how we obtain your details and only process them in ways we believe you would reasonably expect.
This includes not selling or sharing your data with any third parties for any reason (except if required by law).
 
What personal information might we collect from you?
If you order from us we will usually collect:
  • Your name
  • At least one of the following: postal address, email, telephone/mobile number
  • Your preferences as to which of these we should use to contact you in the future
  • A record of your consent/refusal for the use of your postal and/or email address for marketing purposes
 
How do we use this information
The information we gather is used for contacting you about books you may have ordered, sending you your regular Bible study notes or other publications that you have requested, and may also be used to send you updates and information about our work depending upon the permissions you have given.
 
Consent
From June 2018 we will process this information based on the consent you have given us.
If you are an existing customer, we will use your custom over the previous three year period as a legitimate interest reason to continue sending you any communications you receive from us.
If you have previously asked us not to contact you with marketing information, we will continue to respect your wishes.
 
Protecting your personal information
The security of your information is very important to us. We will ensure there are appropriate controls and procedures in place for this purpose. Any information you supply to us is protected by storage on a secure server.
 
We undertake regular reviews of who has access to the information we hold to ensure that your details are only accessible by appropriately trained and authorised staff.
 
Keeping your information up to date
We would appreciate it if you would let us know if your details change, as this gives us the consent to use the updated information to continue to communicate with you.
 
How long we will keep your information for
We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as necessary to carry out the activity relevant to your interactions with us, and for up to three years afterwards unless you request we delete it.
If you ask us to cease communications with you, we will still keep a record of your contact details unless you request we delete them.
 
Your legal rights
You have the following rights in respect of your personal data:
 
  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which we hold
  • The right to request correction of any personal data which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date
  • The right to request erasure of your personal data where it is no longer necessary for us to continue holding this
 
Before responding to a request or objection we may need to request specific information from you as a security measure to ensure this is not disclosed to anyone who has no right to receive it.
We will respond to any requests as quickly as possible.
